The Margarita is one of the world's most popular cocktails, and there's much more to it than the familiar combination of tequila, lime and orange liqueur. From citrus and herbal notes to tropical flavours and a touch of spice, a few changes in ingredients can give this cocktail a completely different character.

We've put together five Margarita recipes to make at home, with easy-to-follow instructions, ingredients and serving suggestions.

1. Frozen Mango Margarita

Sweet mango, fresh lime and tequila blended into a smooth, frozen cocktail. The Tajín rim adds a slightly spicy, tangy contrast to the sweetness of the fruit.

  • 100 g frozen mango

  2. Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, frozen mango, agave syrup and ice to a blender.
  3. Blend until smooth and thick, adding a little more ice if needed.

  • 30 ml coconut milk
  • 15 ml agave syrup
  • Salt, for a half rim
  • Kiwi wheel, for garnish

How to Make

  1. Prepare a half salt rim on a chilled glass.
  2. Peel the kiwi and muddle it in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add tequila, lime juice, coconut milk and agave syrup.
  4. Fill with ice and shake vigorously until the ingredients are thoroughly combined and chilled.
  5. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice. For a smoother texture, double-strain.
  6. Garnish with a kiwi wheel.

The Right Glassware for Your Margarita

A Margarita doesn't always need a traditional wide-rimmed glass. Frozen variations work well in coupes, while Margaritas served over ice can be presented in short tumblers or rocks glasses.

The choice of glass also affects presentation. A wide rim provides space for salt, Tajín or chilli seasoning, while a heavier tumbler is practical for cocktails with plenty of ice and fresh fruit.

At House of Everstyle, you'll find cocktail glassware from RIEDEL and Urban Bar, alongside shakers, strainers, jiggers and other bar tools for preparing your favourite drinks at home.
